OMS is on a transformative journey towards operational efficiencies in its key product and services. With sites across multiple locations, OMS sought to enhance its operations at its Singapore HQ and further strengthen its foundation to seize growth opportunities. Recognising the crucial role of human capital, OMS turned to the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) and enrolled a critical mass of its key management and executives in SIMTech’s Operations Management and Innovation (OMNI™) Training Program to further enhance their competency in this field.

Over the last 30 years, SIMTech has been consistently committed to developing high-value manufacturing technology and human capital to enhance the competitiveness of Singapore’s manufacturing industry. Through collaborations with both multinational corporations (MNCs) and local companies, SIMTech aims to contribute its knowledge and capabilities in advanced manufacturing technology to support sectors including precision engineering, MedTech, aerospace, automotive, marine, oil and gas, electronics, semiconductor, and logistics.

The OMNI™ Training Program provided OMS with a structured approach and a common language within the company to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation. Participants gained knowledge and skills in understanding the business holistically, identifying opportunities for productivity improvement, and implementing targeted initiatives for improvements.

Through the OMNI™ Training Program, the participants enhanced their competency in operations management. This, in turn, enhanced both individual and organisational foundations, positioning them to seize growth opportunities and improve the overall customer experience.
